Your appointment time is reserved for you. If you miss your appointment without canceling (no-show) or if you cancel it less than 2 full business days (48 hours) in advance, you will be charged the full amount of the appointment. This includes initial psychiatric evaluation appointments.
Please keep in mind that 2 or more no-shows or late cancellations within 6 months will result in your dismissal from the practice. Cancellations are accepted by phone or through messages via the patient portal.
Patients who arrive more than 10 minutes late to their appointment may need to be rescheduled and a late cancellation fee will be applied.
telepsychiatry policy
Dr. Zaidi is licensed in the states of Virginia and Maryland. Due to the medical licensing laws, patients must be physically located in the state of Virginia or Maryland at the time of all telepsychiatry visits. At the time of telepsychiatry appointment, if the patient is physically present outside the states of Virginia or Maryland, the appointment will be canceled, and the patient will be responsible for the full payment of the visit.
Please ensure that you have a good internet connection and are not driving at the time of televisit. Failure to follow telepsychiatry policies will result in cancellation of your visit and you will be responsible for the full fee of the scheduled services.
It’s patient’s responsibility to establish a safe and reliable environment where no other person can see or hear any part of your session to ensure privacy. Neither you nor your psychiatrist can record sessions without mutual written consent.
financial POLICy
We are accepting new patients from Aetna, Cigna and Anthem. For patients who dont have coverage through these insurance companies, they can use cash pay model for our services. We can provide a superbill for reimbursement of the insurance claims so that patients or their legal guardians can file an insurance claim. The patients are responsible for all communication with their insurance company.
MEDICATION REFILL POLICY
All requests for medication refills will need to be made via patient portal and will require at least 48 hours (2 full business days) advance notice.
EMERGENCY/CRISIS POLICY
Our office only provides outpatient services and isn’t equipped to handle emergency or crisis situations. If you are having a medical or psychiatric emergency, feel suicidal/have thoughts of hurting yourself, or are homicidal/have thoughts of hurting someone else, you should call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room. If you want to speak with a crisis counselor, you can call or text the National Suicide/Crisis Hotline at 988, which is a free service available 24/7, with the purpose of supporting people in crisis or distress. Please do not call or leave a message for your psychiatrist in an emergency or crisis.
Once the patient is stable, please contact our office via phone or patient portal to inform us about the current patient situation so that we can assess the need for a follow-up visit.
after hours service policy
Our office only operates Monday-Friday during business hours, 9 am to 5:30 pm EST. For urgentafter-hours needs, please visit the nearby emergency room or call 911 for immediate assistance. For non-urgent after-hours concerns, please send a message via the patient portal, and our office staff will respond within approximately 48 hours.
